Prince William has revealed that a reality television show that has quickly become a global phenomenon has also captured the attention of the royal family.
The Prince of Wales made a surprise appearance on Britain’s “The Graham Norton Show” Oct. 23 and opened up about some of his favorite pastimes. While sitting on the couch next to fellow celebrity guests Cate Blanchett, Hannah Waddingham and Robert Irwin, Prince William told host Graham Norton that his family are big fans of “The Celebrity Traitors.”
“I love it. The family love it. Charlotte and Louis are obsessed with it. It’s really good telly,” he praised.
U.K. series “Celebrity Traitors,” hosted by Claudia Winkleman, began airing its second season on Oct. 1. Prince William said he recently tried to re-create a moment from the season premiere.
“I saw Ross Kemp the day after the first episode and I couldn’t help but try — in the most appropriate way – to touch him to see what reaction I got from him. Turns out he was really jumpy!” he marveled.
Kemp, a reporter, went viral after the first episode for his paranoia. He wondered if singer and Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock might be a Traitor after she lightly tapped his shoulder while walking around the castle.
In addition to Pinnock and Kemp, the cast this season also features Richard E. Grant, Michael Sheen and Miranda Hart.
During his time on “The Graham Norton Show,” Prince William shared other ways he likes to unwind.
“It is music and film. I love getting immersed in deep-thinking films. I like action films too, but I like something a bit different,” he said.
The British royal revealed he is a huge fan of Christopher Nolan.
“His films are fantastic — ‘The Dark Knight’ series is psychologically dark and deep and I absolutely love that. He takes concepts that are completely out there and makes them incredibly entertaining,” he gushed.
The royal family supports some of their favorite Hollywood stars from time to time at public events.
In September, the prince and his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, attended the world premiere of “Digger” in London. They were photographed chatting with star Tom Cruise on the red carpet.
