Warning: Spoilers from Episode 7 of “The Traitors: New Blood” below.
Who knew one apple could lead to three episodes of chaos and confusion?
Two weeks after the first murder in plain sight of “The Traitors: New Blood” was completed, speculation surrounding the Traitors and their connection to the crime will not cease. Although the trio successfully survived banishment last week, the same theory linking Tomica and Joe to Niyyah’s murder resurfaced in Episode 7, which aired on NBC Oct. 22.
At the end of last week’s episode, Victor made it clear that he would continue to voice his suspicions of Tomica to anyone who would listen. But in the new episode, titled “It’s Like Fighting Two Pigs Under A Blanket,” he wasn’t the only Faithful the Traitors had to worry about. As host Alan Cumming revealed in the teaser for this episode, a new power was introduced that could have a major impact on the game.
What is the power and who received it? Read on for a recap of Episode 7 of “The Traitors: New Blood” to find out. Plus, learn if the Traitors decided to murder Victor and if the trio made it through another banishment.
A Murder and Endless Finger-Pointing
The episode began with Katie, Tomica and Joe in the turret contemplating who to murder. Although Tomica pushed for Victor, Katie pointed out that getting rid of him would cause Tomica and Joe to look more suspicious. So, the three decided to include Wyatt, Mark, and Kriste on their shortlist for murder.
The next morning, Victor announced in his confessional that he will not let go of “fruit-gate” and planned to target Tomica. But, he faced an uphill battle as multiple Faithfuls said in their confessionals they didn’t think Victor’s theory was helpful. Plus, Abby L. still didn’t trust Wyatt, and Ben revealed in his confessional that he was wary of Katie.
After all the players arrived at breakfast, it was revealed that Mark was killed. In a flashback to the turret, Joe said Mark needed to be murdered because he was a “full-blown Faithful” and no one suspected him.
When he walked into the confessional and saw a note from the Traitors, Mark said, “Oh my God, I knew this was going to happen. Oh, it’s horrible.” After reading the letter, he added, “Damn, that sucks bro. Killing me was just really not cool but this has been such an unreal experience. I’m so grateful for meeting everyone. And at least I made it way more fun to be here. I would give the Faithful advice but I haven’t been right yet. So, you know, good luck.”
Before the mission, more Faithfuls privately shared their theories, with Kriste worrying about Abby L. repeatedly leading them in the wrong direction and Clyde speculating about Morgan’s unusual behavior.
A Mission and a Mysterious Power
Prior to the mission, Alan warned the players that they would be required to be “outstanding in your field.” He also said the prize pot totaled $97,000.
The players were taken to a large field filled with terrifying scarecrows. There, they had to rip open and sift through the scarecrows’ innards to find unmarked bags of gold. They then had to take the gold and return it to their marked barrows, without knowing the value of each bag.
But Alan had a new twist to share. “In today’s mission, you’re not just playing for gold. You are each playing for a huge new power. This power can turn the entire Round Table on its head,” he revealed. Whoever had the most gold in their barrow at the end of the 15-minute mission would win the power. However, every player wouldn’t make it to the end of the mission as some scarecrows contained black hearts. If a black heart was placed in another player’s barrow, that player would be eliminated.
During the mission, Shane eliminated Victor, Clyde got rid of Morgan, Abby L. put a black heart in Wyatt’s barrow and Ben eliminated Katie. The group added $15,300 to the prize pot, and Alan shared that the power would be revealed later at the Round Table.
A Chaotic Round Table and the Pardon Power
Before the Round Table, Tomica pulled Victor for a private chat to learn why he was fixated on her and his fruit theory. When he asked her to name a person she didn’t trust, Tomica mentioned Katie.
The Round Table started with Kriste calling out Abby L. for consistently being wrong. In response, Abby L. pushed her Wyatt theory, again. Next, Victor spoke up and shifted the conversation to Niyyah’s murder. But, he was shut down after Jay called him a distraction and said he wanted to vote for Victor.
Victor didn’t back down and reiterated his idea that Tomica and Joe are Traitors. To make Tomica look more untrustworthy, he also revealed that she threw Katie under the bus.
In a confessional, Tomica said she mixed up Katie’s name with Kriste’s name by mistake.
During the vote, Katie turned on Tomica and wrote her name, along with Victor and Wyatt. But, it wasn’t enough to send her home. A majority of the players voted to banish Victor. He stood on the Circle of Truth, preparing his exit speech, before Alan interrupted. He said the power he teased earlier is called “The Power of the Pardon” and it could save Victor. The winner of the power can either let the banishment stand or grant Victor mercy.
The episode ended on a cliffhanger before viewers learned who won the power that would decide Victor’s fate.
