British band members and brothers Noel Gallagher, 59, and Liam Gallagher, 53, are responsible for megahits like “Wonderwall,” “Champagne Supernova” and the titular “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” Despite their success, the band split more than a decade ago due to the all-too-frequent feuds.
The Gallagher brothers made a rare appearance on the red carpet on Sept. 5 at the Venice International Film Festival screening of “Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger,” a new documentary about the behind-the-scenes drama surrounding their highly anticipated 41-date reunion tour in 2025.
The documentary opens in theaters on Sept. 11.
Could the tour have brought the brothers closer together? Perhaps. They certainly seemed at ease on the Venice red carpet, smiling, hugging, pulling faces and even holding hands in a victory pose.
Noel Gallagher even got playful and stuck his tongue out at the photographers during the red carpet.
Oasis had been broken up since August 2009 following a reported brawl between the two. Noel Gallagher then announced he was quitting the band after a show at a festival in Paris.
While the two had pursued their own solo careers, they announced their reunion tour in August 2024.
This is not the first time post-breakup that the brothers seem to have found a new rhythm together.
Last August, Noel Gallagher told the British radio show talkSPORT that his brother Liam Gallagher has been “amazing” and “smashing it.”
That was quite a turnaround for the brothers, who frequently sparred on social media and in interviews over the years.
“I guess when it’s all said and done, we’ll sit and reflect on it, but it’s great being back in a band with Liam,” Noel Gallagher said in the interview. “I forgot how funny he was.”
He continued, “Liam’s smashing it, and I’m proud of him.”
Noel Gallagher, who had been working as a solo artist alongside his band the High Flying Birds following Oasis’ breakup, added about his brother, “I’ve got to say, I kind of look at him and think, ‘Good for you, mate.’ He’s been amazing.”
