‘Sister Wives’ Star Janelle Brown Goes Public with New Boyfriend: ‘Meet Pete’

Janelle Brown is celebrating a “pretty wonderful” chapter in her life.

The “Sister Wives” star shared a photo with her new beau on her Strive with Janelle Facebook page on Aug. 18. The relationship debut comes about four years after Janelle announced she was splitting from her ex-husband, Kody Brown.

Janelle and Kody’s marriage played out in the TLC show “Sister Wives,” alongside his marriages to Meri Brown, Christine Brown and Robyn Brown. He is currently only married to Robyn Brown.

Alongside the selfie, which shows the couple beaming, she shared a few words about how this new gent, referred to only as Pete, came into her life.

“Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared. I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you. And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed,” Janelle wrote. “And it has been pretty wonderful.”

Then, she rolled out the red carpet for her new partner: “Everyone please meet Pete.”

Janelle isn’t the only “sister wife” to have found love since leaving Kody. Christine Brown married David Woolley in 2023, months after they met, and the two are going strong.

In a previous interview with TODAY.com in 2023, a year after she announced she was leaving Kody, Janelle said she was embracing her “selfish” era.

“For once, I get to live for me,” Janelle says. “I get to do all those things I knew I was capable of. Now I get to do me and all the potential that’s there.”

At the time of the interview, she felt optimistic about what was to come.

“Life has been an unexpected journey. I didn’t expect to be here, reinventing myself at 50. I’m honored that people still want to see what I’m doing,” Janelle said. “Because I’m going to pull it off. I’m going to reinvent myself in a very big way. I hope that is inspiring to people.”

Since their split, she and Kody have faced a shared tragedy. One of their five children, Garrison, died in 2024. In the show, Garrison’s parents, siblings and relatives have honored his memory and shed light on his struggle with mental health. Janelle has been open with her grief journey, as well.

Despite “Sister Wives” showing their relationship hitting moments of turmoil, she said in a 2023 confessional that she didn’t regret marrying Kody.

“I know that I didn’t make a mistake in marrying him. I would do it all over again,” she said.
