
Mabel Lowe β daughter of actor Chad Lowe and his wife, producer Kim Painter β recently shared some sweet words in remembrance of her 13-year-old sister Fiona, who died Sept. 29.
Mabel Lowe, 17, posted a tribute on Instagram Oct. 3, promising to honor her sisterβs legacy. According to the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner, Fiona Loweβs death was ruled a suicide.
βI love you so much fiona β€οΈ i wish your short time here was easier and i hope your mind is at ease now,β Mabel Lowe wrote in the post. βI will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, i hope you knew just how much.β
The sisters, in addition to Nixie, 10, are the children of Chad Lowe and Painter.
In her post, Mabel Lowe shared several photos, ranging from snaps of Fiona as a toddler through her preteen years, along with a video of the two dancing together in Halloween outfits.
The emotional tribute follows a Sept. 30 statement from the family that was shared on Mabel Loweβs Instagram story.
βWe are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,β the family wrote in the statement. βShe was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance.
The statement also said that Fiona was βadored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents.β
βIn fact, she was the light of our lives,β the statement said. βHer passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.β
The family did not mention a cause of death at the time, but encouraged those with mental health struggles to seek help.

Months ago, Chad Lowe, the younger brother of fellow actor Rob Lowe, had shared a post in celebration of Fionaβs 13th birthday.

According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, suicide is the second-leading cause of death among youth ages 10-14 in the U.S. Further, one-fifth of high-schoolers report serious thoughts about suicide while 9% report a suicide attempt.
Nonprofit National Alliance on Mental Illness encourages individuals who are concerned for loved ones to βseek help and support before the crisis emerges.β
βIf you or someone you love begins to feel worried but doesnβt feel in immediate danger of acting on thoughts of self-harm or suicide, then steps should be taken to find help for care and support,β the organization wrote on its website. βThis help can be from a pediatrician, primary health care provider, or a mental health clinician.β
