Watch Anne Hathaway ‘Disappear’ After Promoting A Marathon Of 5 Movies This Year

After a year of promoting a whopping five major films, Anne Hathaway made good on her promise to get out of the spotlight.

The actor shared a video on her Instagram Oct. 2 —the release day of her latest film “Verity” — in which she hilariously disappears into thin air. It comes after the actor told Entertainment Tonight in a Sept. 21 clip that she had been planning to “to vanish in a plume of smoke” after her press tours were over.

Hathaway, who’s also pregnant with her third child, sure has a sense of humor.

In the clip, Hathaway speaks to the camera, telling fans that she’s “heading out to the ‘Verity’ premiere.”

“‘Verity’ comes out in theaters Friday, Oct. 2, and then on Oct. 3…,” Hathaway says before abruptly vanishing from the screen as a puff of animated smoke dissipates in the room.

The video then features a flurry of faux news stories.

“Anne Hathaway simply evaporates,” one headline says.

The clip concludes with some words from the actor, thanking her fans.

“Thank you everyone for your support, and for making this an incredible, unforgettable year,” the text says.

Now that’s how you end a press circuit.

The hilarious post comes after Hathaway not only promoted “Verity,” but also did press for “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” “Mother Mary,” “The Odyssey” and “The End of Oak Street.”

Her ubiquity in film this year led satirical outlet The Onion to release a now-viral article in August titled, “Analysts Warn U.S. Economy Becoming Overly Dependent On Anne Hathaway.”

In addition to the nonstop press tours, Hathaway is also pregnant, expecting her third child with husband Adam Schulman. The two share sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6.

The actor said during her Sept. 30 appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” that she got the news that she was expecting just before she was set to promote one of her films.

“I found out I was pregnant like, two-and-a-half weeks before ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ press tour kicked off,” said Hathaway, who announced her pregnancy in June. “And I was just like, ‘How is that gonna work?’”

While it’s been quite the amount of work, Hathaway told the Associated Press that it’s not necessary to “over praise the pampered actress.”

“There’s a lot of pregnant women out there at home and in the workplace who didn’t get a manicure this morning,” she told the outlet in a Sept. 29 interview. “I’m very happy to do my job. I have so much support.”
