It’s the cutest thing!
Meghan Markle appeared on cooking reality show “MasterChef Australia” as a guest judge for the July 26 episode. And while the Duchess of Sussex’s presence on competition show had been a shock to the contestants, she got a little surprise of her own — a call from her husband Prince Harry.
“What’s going on?” Harry says cheekily, during the mid-episode video call. “Have I interrupted something?”
For the show, based on the original British “Masterchef,” amateur cooks face off for the chance to publish their own cookbook and $250,000 AUD, which comes out to roughly $174,500.00 in USD.
During the episode, four contestants were challenged to create a dish out of Meghan’s favorite seasonal ingredients, including Brussels sprouts, local Australian honey, quince, strawberries and more. The result was to be “fit for a duchess.”
Just as Meghan was tasting the dishes, she received the surprise ring from her beau.
“I wish you could try this,” said Meghan, who referred to her husband as “my love.” “These dishes are fantastic.”
The Duke of Sussex, of course, replied by asking to see the creations.
The former “Suits” actress is no stranger to the kitchen. In 2025, she starred in her own Netflix lifestyle show “With Love, Meghan.” In the show, which ran for two seasons, Meghan invited a slew of celebrity guests into her home to explore some kitchen and craft tips and tricks.
The “MasterChef Australia” was released right on the heels of some new photos that Meghan posted to social media of her recent vacation with Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
In one of the photos, the family appears to pay a visit to Princess Diana’s childhood home. The snap features Harry and Archie carrying large bouquets. Lilibet trails behind them as they walk down a grassy yard. The location is believed to be taken at Althorp, the late royal’s family estate.
