Leave it to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce to turn a getaway car into the latest wedding Easter egg.
On July 4, the morning after the coupleβs star-studded wedding at Madison Square Garden, one very familiar set of wheels made an appearance outside the venue: a burgundy 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible β the same classic muscle car that has become associated with the beginning of the pairβs romance.
The New York Post first reported the sight after the outlet spotted a New York license plate reading βJST&T MRDβ on the car and obtained exclusive video of what appeared to be a Madison Square Garden employee driving it out of the arena.
For Swifties, the sighting felt less like a coincidence and more like a nod to where it all began.
In September 2023, after Swift attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game, Kelce picked up the pop star in his beloved burgundy Chevelle, and the pair cruised away from Arrowhead Stadium to a private afterparty, marking their first public appearance together as a couple.
βWe slipped off in the getaway car at the end,β Kelce told his brother Jason on their βThe New Heightsβ podcast. βTook my Chevelle to the game. β¦ You already know Iβm having fun flying around and breaking the speed limits in that thing. Shout-out to Taylor for coming through and seeing me rock the stage.β
Kelce has never hidden his affection for the car. During the episode, he gushed, βThat thing sounds so mean coming around the corner, and it looks sweet.β
Over the next three years, the couple became one of pop cultureβs most buzzy pairings, with Swift frequently attending Chiefs games and Kelce supporting her on the international leg of the βEras Tour.β Kelce proposed in August 2025, and the couple tied the knot July 3, bringing the love story that began with a classic Chevelle full circle.
