Melanie Martinez has already revealed the name of her next album, just three months after the release of โHades.โ
The former โVoiceโ contestant dropped the news exclusively on TODAY June 26, saying her 2026 album, โHadesโ is Part 1 of a two-album effort.
โThereโs another album that I havenโt said the name yet, but maybe Iโll say it now. Why not?โ the โDollhouseโ singer said as the crowd on the plaza went wild.
โThe second album is called โElysium.โ Thatโs all Iโll say, but itโs a utopian reference, so itโs the other part. Itโs the counterpart to it,โ she added, as the crowd continued howling.
While she didnโt reveal too much information about the album itself, she did talk about how โHades,โ which topped the Billboard rock and alternative albums chart in April, came together.
โWith โHades,โ it was just kind of reflecting on the current times, and the world feels very dystopian, so I wanted to make a dystopian record,โ she said, noting she was inspired by the book โParable of the Sowerโ by Octavia E. Butler.
โI thought it was time to make an album about all of the topics that I felt were really kind of heavy on my heart and Iโm just really happy that resonate with it,โ she said.
Martinez has quite the loyal fanbase, which has grown since she appeared on โThe Voiceโ in 2012. Itโs a rise that has surprised her.
โIโm always in awe, and unbelievably grateful,โ she said.
โAnd I just feel lucky that I get to do what I love and that I get to put on shows and create safe spaces for people all over the world to come together who are like-minded and creative and passionate,โ she added. โAnd itโs inspiring and I just want to do it for the rest of my life, so Iโm just really grateful.โ
