The first Peacock-produced season of โMarried at First Sightโ ended on Aug. 27, wrapping up the fates of seven couples arranged by two experts.
By the time the finale rolled around, two couples had already called it quits. Five more weighed in on whether theyโd continue with their relationship. The reunion provided even more of an update on all the couples.
Hereโs what happened in the finale and the reunion.
Devin Short and Caitlin Grimm
Status: Not together
Devin and Caitlin ended their relationship five days before Decision Day amid fights during a couples retreat. This was preceded by tension over their communication style.
One of the last things that Caitlin said about Devin was that while he was a โfantasticโ human, they were โclearly not compatible.โ Caitlin also revealed she has a boyfriend.
Nick Unlenhuth and Courteney Landis
Status: Not together
Nick and Courteney broke up in front of all the other couples following prodding from hosts Paul C. Brunson and Dr. Liza Paz at a group therapy session.
Both agreed the relationship wasnโt working. The couple had experienced tension and a lack of intimacy since their wedding day.
After an emotional reunion and a spar with Adam, Courteney revealed she had a boyfriend, who was also in the audience.
Felipe Cruz and Tori Dahl
Status: Not together
Felipe and Tori broke up after Felipe shared thoughts that distressed his bride. Off-camera, he confessed that he had been thinking of being unfaithful with her constantly. Felipe, during the reunion, corroborated having these thoughts, but said heโd never cheated.
The breakup wasnโt too surprising, considering Felipe struggled with the idea of monogamy throughout the process. He continually expressed becoming bored once in a relationship.
Mecca Amen and BellรฉJolie Force
Status: Not together
BellรจJolie and Mecca hit plenty of road bumps during the process, with BellรจJolie often feeling like she liked Mecca more than he was able to reciprocate.
In the finale, though, both chose to stay married. Mecca burst out smiling when BellรจJolie chose to marry him. โFor me a yes means continuing to show up and doing it better,โ he said.
However, the reunion provided another update: BellรฉJolie revealed that they had quickly split up after Decision Day.
Nikki Jefferson and Shawn Best
Status: Not together
Nikki chose to break up with Shawn on Decision Day, saying that she didnโt feel emotionally safe with Shawn. As typical between Nikki and Shawn, the conversation became defensive.
Marissa Meyer and Adam Dehmlow
Status: Not together
Marissa began Decision Day by saying that she had fallen in love with Adam. Ultimately, though, she chose not to marry him. She felt like she was changing her personality to please him, repeating a pattern that she had in past relationships.
At the reunion, Marissa and Adamโs showdown was enough for Caitlin to call it a โdumpster fire.โ Marissa revealed Adam had messaged Tori on Hinge; he said he wasnโt trying to pursue her.
Adam revealed that he has a girlfriend. The camera panned to her in the crowd, who was shocked by the revelation and stayed silent. When asked her thoughts on Adam after hearing everyoneโs commentary during the reunion, she said her experience with Adam didnโt match up to what others were saying.
Cameron Mitchell and Michelle Le
Relationship status: Still married
Cameron and Michelle are the only couple from โMarried at First Sightโ still together. At the reunion, the two shared they are happily married and that Cameron proposed again.
Michelle also shared a health update at the reunion. Diagnosed with uterine fibroids at 26, Michelle said her case worsened. She said she ultimately got a hysterectomy. The couple is now living together in the Bay Area.
