Who Went Home on ‘The Traitors: New Blood’ Tonight? Episodes 3 and 4 Murders and Banishments

Warning: Spoilers from “The Traitors: New Blood” Episodes 3 and 4 below.

The all-civilian cast of “The Traitors: New Blood” are not afraid to play a ruthless game.

Following the murder and banishment in the supersized premiere, the Traitors were eager to get more blood on their hands and make big moves. But Episodes 3 and 4 upped the ante by adding elements to the game that could disrupt the Traitors’ plans.

In the newest episodes, which aired Sept. 24 on NBC, Traitors Tomica and Joe officially offered one of their accomplices — Katie and Xavier — the opportunity to join them in the turret, meaning the other one was murdered. But the drama didn’t stop there, as two missions caused distrust to spread among the Faithfuls.

The episode ended with a cliffhanger after one of the Traitors was called out at the Round Table, putting their game at risk. Read a recap of all the major moments from Episodes 3 and 4.

The Traitors Recruit and Murder

Episode 3, titled “The Traitors Are Watching,” opened with accomplices Xavier and Katie meeting the Traitors and host Alan Cumming in the front of the castle during the middle of the night.

Joe and Tomica revealed their identities to their two accomplices, who said they didn’t suspect either one of them. Xavier and Katie shared that they both successfully completed their task from the last episode of securing a death warrant. That meant it was up to the Traitors to decide which player to recruit and which one to murder.

The Traitors announced that they wanted to add Katie to their group. After learning his fate, Xavier said in his final confessional, “Your boy is gone and it stings right in the heart. I felt like I was the stronger choice of the two. I was going to come out on top. I’d take this whole thing home.”

Meanwhile, Katie celebrated with Joe and Tomica, giddily telling them, “We are going to do very, very bad things together.”

First Mission

At breakfast the next morning, the players learned Xavier was murdered and they were stunned. Logan remembered that Xavier threw out Katie’s name before he left, so he shared the information with some other players. Meanwhile, Jay was starting to look suspicious after he told a group of players that he wanted to keep his Traitor theories to himself until the right moment.

For the first mission of the night, the players arrived in a field where Alan shared that there was $30,000 up for grabs. During the mission, the players had to use a battering ram to open three crypts that contained varying amounts of gold. But, only some players had the opportunity to enter the crypts. Alan warned, “There may be more than just gold awaiting you when you enter.”

The first two players to go inside were Alisa and Morgan. They found $5,000 and Alisa swiftly exited while Morgan lingered to look for a shield. Next, Tomica and Clyde entered crypt two and were presented with two options: $10,000 or $5,000 and a shield. They opted to give the shield to Clyde and took $5,000.

In the third and final crypt, Michael and Ben were given two options: $15,000 or $5,000 and “top secret Traitor info.” They chose the second option and received a clue that read, “Last night two players battled in plain sight to become a Traitor.”

After the mission, cracks in the group started to form as the Faithfuls questioned why they only added $15,000 to the prize pot if $30,000 was available.

A Banishment at the Round Table

When the players returned to the castle, they started scheming again. Some theorized that Arisa and Victor were Traitors because in the previous episode they held hands while Arisa questioned him.

At the Round Table, Michael revealed his clue. Niyyah said the clue could point to Arisa since she did her “trust test” with Victor in front of people. But Kriste interjected to suggest that maybe Xavier was competing to be a Traitor and that’s why he was eliminated. That led Jay to bring up Xavier’s warning about Katie, with Logan confirming Xavier’s final words.

Episode 4, titled “The Death Parade,” began with Joe jumping in to defend Katie at the Round Table. Focus then switched back to Victor. Victor tried and failed to get the players to turn on Michael before the vote began. Arisa received the most votes and was banished.

“So, I’ve had a lot of fun playing this game with you guys. And from the beginning I have and always will be Faithful,” she said before exiting.

Logan revealed in his confessional that he was still suspicious of Katie. Elsewhere, Abby L. chatted with Sherry, who was noticeably quiet at the Round Table. Sherry told Abby L. to start watching the men because “we know there’s not three female Traitors.” Abby L. repeated the conversation to a few others, questioning how Sherry knew the exact number of Traitors.

In the turret, the Traitors shared their shortlist for murder: Logan, Abby L. and Mark. Joe suggested that Katie make the final decision as the new Traitor.

A Second Murder

During breakfast, viewers and the players learned that Logan was murdered.

“It finally arrived in the mail,” Logan sarcastically said when he arrived for his confessional interview and saw a letter from the Traitors. “You know something? I said Katie yesterday. I don’t know. Maybe I got close. Maybe I didn’t. I guess we’ll find out. Dang,” he said before departing.

Second Mission

Before the next mission started, Jay informed viewers in his confessional that his chaotic personality and behavior was part of his plan. He said he wanted the Traitors to view him as a distraction so they would keep him around longer.

At the mission, Alan said there was $24,000 available. The players had to push a wagon filled with gold to the end of a path. Along the path, they would encounter three gates that they needed to open before the death parade caught up to them. Any player caught by the parade would be on the shortlist for murder.

When they reached the first gate, the players learned that they had to leave four people behind. Victor, Niyyah, Morgan and Mark volunteered to be captured by the death parade. Kriste and Tomica stayed behind at gate two. The final four players who sacrificed themselves at gate three were Abby L, Joe, Clyde and Sherry.

Throughout the mission, Jay irritated multiple players by refusing to sacrifice himself. He particularly irked Katie who called him out for not contributing. Before returning to the castle, Alan revealed that the players would attend a funeral for one of the eight people left behind.

Back at the castle, Jay apologized to the players. He also pointed out that Katie was too upset with his behavior during the mission, suspecting she is a Traitor.

Going into the Round Table, Katie said in her confessional that she was nervous Jay would come after her. And he did just that. Jay opened the discussion by saying he had been collecting information for four days that confirmed his theory that Katie is a Traitor. The episode ended on a cliffhanger with Katie in the hot seat.

What Will Happen Next Week?

Fans will have to wait to see if Katie can successfully avoid banishment and if her fellow Traitors will speak up to save her. “The Traitors: New Blood” will not air a new episode next week due to the MLB Wildcard Series.

Episode 5 of “The Traitors: New Blood,” titled “Wake of the Living Dead,” will arrive Thursday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. ET/ PT on NBC.
