“16 years ago I was the luckiest woman in the world to marry @vanderjames,” Kimberly Van Der Beek wrote in the post. “The beauty of this marriage continues to unfold everyday with all these incredible children we have.”

The two got married in 2010 and had six children together: Olivia, Joshua, Annabel, Emilia, Gwendolyn and Jeremiah.

The actor, who’s also known for his roles in films “Varsity Blues” and “The Rules of Attraction,” announced in November 2024 that he had been diagnosed with colorectal cancer. He died after a two-and-a-half-year battle with the disease.

In the post, Kimberly Van Der Beek said that her husband “continues to be present and guide us.”

“I’m eternally grateful. 🙏🌹😍🥰” she wrote.

The message was met with an outpouring of support from friends and fans, who marveled at the pair’s relationship.

“Your love set the bar for us all. Love you so much,” commented actor Jamie-Lynn Sigler, best known for her role in “The Sopranos.”

Several others wrote that the couple were “true soul mates.”

Kimberly Van Der Beek has been open about both her grief and the memories she’s had of her marriage. On June 21, she shared how she continued to feel her husband’s presence.

“Missing you so much and thinking of how magnificent you were in every single way today,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “And somehow, from the other side? You continue to parent. You’re a marvel.”
