Some celebrity wax figures go viral for being unrecognizable, but Usherβs replica is capturing fansβ attention for being βtoo spot on.β
Madame Tussaudsβ Las Vegas location unveiled its newest wax figure to Usher in a video shared on Instagram Sept. 3. Usherβs wax figure shows him posing while in the middle of hitting one of his signature dance moves.
βWow,β the R&B singer said in the clip the instant he walked into the museum and spotted the creation.
βLook at that guy! It looks more like me than me,β he marveled as he inspected all the intricate details.
He pointed out that the artists perfectly matched his eyes.
βIβm blown away,β he added before sharing that the wax figure is sporting the same outfit he wore during his 2021 Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The look featured glittery red roller skates, black gloves and a βUβ chain. The replica even had in-ears, the audio device musicians use when they perform.
βI hope that my fans who did not get the chance to see that show have a little bit of a glimpse of the magic that was there for my very first Vegas residency,β he shared.
In the caption, the βU Remind Meβ singer quipped that now his fans know where to find him.
βIβve officially made it back to Vegas permanently!!β he joked.
He also further complimented the Madame Tussauds creation, adding, βThe details are crazy.β
Fans in the comments agreed that the wax figure was impressive, labeling it one of the best theyβve ever seen.
βNow that actually looks like the actual person. Have that person do all of them for now on even statues,β one said.
Another wrote, βIβve never seen a wax figure look this much like the person. The person that made this has to be a fan.β
Others chimed in and poked fun at the recent rumors that Usher was using an imposter to perform for him at some stops on his joint tour with Chris Brown.
βSee? The fans swore up and down you had a double. Now look!β one commented and included a crying-laughing emoji.
βYou said they canβt clone you, but they sure can wax you!!!!β an Instagram user wrote. βStill doesnβt compare to the original though.β
She continued, βI guess I gotta go to Vegas to get my picture, because thatβs the only way Iβm getting one with you.β
But one fan playfully said she was alarmed by just how good the wax figure looked.
βThis one is TOO spot on. Iβm scared lol,β she said.
Usher worked personally with a team of Studio Artists from Madame Tussauds to make sure they nailed the wax figure, the museum said in a press release. The team took hundreds of measurements and photographs of the Grammy winner to include all his features.
The museum also revealed that Usher donated his residency outfit to complete the look.
βOver the course of about nine months, 20 studio artists sculpted, painted and individually inserted each piece of hair to achieve the perfect likeness,β Madame Tussauds said.
