Liz McGraw Leaving β€˜Real Housewives of Rhode Island’ Season 2



But she is, ma. Liz McGraw will step away from β€œReal Housewives of Rhode Island” for Season 2, after quickly becoming a fan favorite for her teasing confessionals and zippy one-liners.

Liz on July 1 announced her departure from the reality TV show on Instagram, writing that she plans to β€œfocus on my family, my work and my passions.”

β€œAs filming for Season 2 begins, I have made the decision to take a step back,” she said in her statement.

She added that she’s β€œfull of gratitude” for her time as a main cast member and will be watching the next season.

TODAY.com has reached out to Bravo for comment but did not immediately hear back. The network’s official Instagram commented a heart emoji on Liz’s post.

β€œReal Housewives of Rhode Island” premiered in April and aired a two-part reunion on June 21 and June 28. The Bravo show was renewed for a second season in May.

Liz, 56, is described in the show as Rhode Island’s β€œCannabis Queen.” She owns and operates the state’s largest cannabis dispensary. Liz is married to Gerry McGraw and stepmother to his three children. She’s longtime friends with β€œReal Housewives of New Jersey” star Dolores Catania, who made several appearances throughout β€œRhode Island’s” debut season.

Liz was represented as one of the leaders of the β€œReal Housewives of Rhode Island” group throughout Season 1, with longtime friendships with Kelsey Swanson, Alicia Carmody and Jo-Ellen Tiberi. Over Season 1’s 12 episodes, tension escalated between Liz and Jo-Ellen before exploding at a brunch outing. During the reunion, Liz questioned Jo-Ellen’s description of their relationship as β€œbest friends.”

The cast for Season 2 of β€œRHORI” is unclear. Season 1 featured Liz, Kelsey, Alicia, Jo-Ellen as well as Rosie DiMare, Rulla Nehme Pontarelli and β€œBachelor” franchise alum Ashley Iaconetti.
