Karol G Gets Surprised When Little Girl at Her Concert Says Her Favorite Song Is By Shakira

It was a night to remember for Karol G and one young fan who made the whole stadium smile at the singer’s latest show.

During her July 29 β€œViajando Por El Mundo TropiTour” concert at Rogers Stadium in Toronto, Karol took a moment to say hi to a little girl in the crowd. In video shared by DJ Mechon on Instagram, Karol stopped the music, gave the girl a hug and asked her name.

β€œChloe,” she replied, before Karol asked what her favorite song was. β€œDai Dai,” the girl replied, referring to Shakira’s song for the World Cup.

β€œWhat?” Karol replied, before realizing she was not talking about one of her songs. β€œβ€™Dai Dai,’ let’s sing it,” she said in Spanish. β€œShe knows it.”

β€œShe just said that her favorite song is β€˜Dai Dai’ by Shakira,” Karol continued as the audience laughed. β€œYou want to sing it? You know it?”

The girl then started to sing Shakira’s song, with everyone joining in and Karol cheering her on.

β€œThis was one of the most special moments of the night because it showed both the innocence of children and Karol G’s kindness,” DJ Mechon, who attended the concert and recorded the video, tells TODAY.com. β€œWhen she asked the little girl what her favorite song was, she answered β€˜Dai Dai,’ which is actually a Shakira song. Rather than making the child feel embarrassed, Karol G embraced the moment, and as the little girl sang, the entire stadium joined in.”

Adding, β€œIt turned into one of the most genuine and heartwarming moments of the concert,” he continued, adding that β€œbeing there, for what was probably the biggest Latin concert Toronto has ever seen, was unforgettable. The energy, emotion, and connection between Karol G and her fans made it a truly special night.”

Julie Haynes, another fan who attended the same concert and shared video of the moment online, also tells TODAY.com that the interaction was among her favorites of the night.

β€œOut of the whole concert, that was the moment that stuck with me the most. It was so innocent and genuine,” Haynes says. β€œI love how kids are just unapologetically themselves, and seeing her confidently tell Karol G that her favorite song was β€˜Dai Dai’ by Shakira was such a sweet moment I’ll never forget.”

And it was a memorable night for Karol as she became the first female solo artist to headline a show at Rogers Stadium.

The β€œLatina Foreva” singer kicked off her β€œViajando Por El Mundo TropiTour” on July 27 in Chicago, with fans calling the show a celebration of culture, fawning over her sensational outfits and band on stage.

Just in the past days while on tour, Karol announced her new single, β€œMatadora,” as well as a new album β€œNo Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto.”

During her Toronto concert, she revealed that it will be released on Friday, Aug. 7. The cover art was also unveiled on the screens. She will continue touring across North America, Latin America and Europe, marking her largest live production yet.
