Disney Night Kicks Off With Dynamic Broadway-Inspired Opening Number
The opening performance of the Disney Night on “DWTS” was Tony worthy!
The troupe and pros knocked it out of the park as they performed a Broadway-inspired routine to “Circle of Life/Nants Ingonyama” from “The Lion King.”
There was also a performance of “Belle” from “Beauty and the Beast” with Kyra Belle Johnson, “Seize the Day” from “Newsies,” “The Greatest Show” from “The Greatest Showman,” and “Friend Like Me” from “Aladdin.”
The Couples Make the Perfect Disney Pairs
Amber Glenn was the first star to dance, embodying Hercules and even leading Pasha Pashkov during their routine. The judges applauded her strength and called it the perfect opening.
Maura Higgins was the perfect Tinker Bell as she and Mark Ballas went all out during their jive to “You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!” from “Peter Pan.” However, the judges felt the routine was a bit low energy — and Higgins agreed that the dance style made her feel like she was in “Tinker Hell.”
Tatyana Ali and partner Jan Ravnik brought the passion during their contemporary routine. Inaba said the actor gave her chills and applauded her performance.
