Chloe Fineman Leaves β€˜Saturday Night Live’ After 7 Seasons

After seven seasons of viral sketches and celebrity impressions, Chloe Fineman is leaving β€œSaturday Night Live” ahead of its 52nd season.

The comedian announced on Instagram July 16 that she is departing from the show, describing her time on the comedy staple as β€œthe greatest privilege” of her life.

β€œIt’s really hard to leave SNL but it does feel like the right time,” Fineman wrote. β€œI’m going to miss it a lot. But the people who work there are my family and that place is my home, and I know I’ll never be too far away.”

Her departure follows a slew of exits from many of the show’s veteran comedians in 2025, including Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim and Bowen Yang, as well as Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker and Emil Wakim, who were shorter-tenured performers.

Ahead of the Season 51 premiere in September 2025, Fineman told Extra TV that she was still wrapping her head around the shakeups.

β€œSome shocking stuff,” she said. β€œA little heartbreak, sadness. I haven’t fully processed anything, but I will say the show has such a turnover.”

In the post announcing her departure, Fineman wrote about the highs and lows of working on the show: β€œI still can’t really believe I got to be a part of it. I fell in love with the place the second I walked through the door.”

She also joked about the plights of working on β€œSNL,” recalling how performers can β€œsob uncontrollably” when a sketch is cut, only to look back β€œa few years later” and realize β€œit was a sketch called β€˜lipstick for thicc dogs.’”

Fineman wrapped up her farewell message with a final declaration about the sketch: β€œAnd I swear to God, one day, sometime in the future, they WILL make lipstick for thicc dogs,” she wrote.
