Halloween is supermodel and television personality Heidi Klum’s big day. And at her side is usually her husband, rocker Tom Kaulitz.
But this year, the Tokio Hotel frontman was noticeably missing from her annual epic bash, which marked 25 years of Klum’s #Heidiween festivities.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Klum, dressed as a giant, severed version of her own left hand, revealed that Kaulitz had to skip the party at restaurant Cathédrale in Manhattan because of his band’s ongoing tour in Europe. But Klum made sure to include a loving nod to her beau.
“That’s my engagement ring and my wedding band,” Klum said, pointing out the giant set of rings on her costume’s ring finger. “My husband he couldn’t be here today because he’s on tour right now, and I’m going to join him on tour. But he couldn’t be here today, so you know he’s always with me.”
Klum also showed reporters that her hand costume included a “Tom” tattoo, matching the one she has on her actual hand.
Kaulitz, who wed Klum in 2019, is the supermodel’s third husband. She was previously married to singer Seal from 2005 to 2014, and stylist Ric Pipino from 1997 to 2002.
In years past, Kaulitz, whose band is performing in Hamburg, Germany on Nov. 1, has played an important role in bringing the fantastical concepts behind Klum’s costumes to life. For example, in 2022, Klum dressed as an enormous earthworm. Kaulitz was the disturbing fisherman who had attached the gruesome worm to his line. So sweet!
Last year, Klum dressed as the mythical creature Medusa while Kaulitz was one of the monster’s unfortunate victims who had turned to stone.
Klum has often referred to Kaulitz the love of her life. The two met at a mutual friend’s birthday party, she told Ellen Degeneres in 2018. And for Klum, it was pretty much love at first sight.
“It was to the point, so bad, that I couldn’t even look at him,” Klum recalled to the comedian. “You know when you’re immediately attracted to someone that you’re like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I can’t look at him!’ So, I had to sit next to him, instead of across, because then I would’ve had to look at him the whole time.”
