Weeks after being photographed heading to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelceโs wedding in New York, Karlie Kloss opened up about the nuptials.
โListen, I try to protect the privacy of my friendsโ personal lives,โ Kloss said during an appearance on TODAY on July 28. โBut what I will say is that theyโre an amazing couple and Iโm so happy for them.โ
Swift and Kelceโs wedding unfolded on July 3 in New York, drawing a star-studded crowd to Madison Square Garden. While most of the wedding has been kept secret, guests have shared a few details, like handkerchiefs embroidered with a T&T logo and who, exactly, caught the bouquet.
Kloss and Swift met at a fashion show in 2013, Swift confirmed to Vogue in 2015, and became fast friends. The two shared bits of their friendship with the world and the press. Kloss even appeared in Swiftโs โBad Bloodโ music video in 2015.
However, the two have not been photographed or seen together publicly since 2016. Swift did not attend either of Klossโ wedding ceremonies to Joshua Kushner in 2018 and 2019. Of their friendship, a 2018 New York Times profile of Kloss said, โDespite internet gossip suggesting otherwise, the pair continues to be good friends and they talk frequently.โ
Kloss, meanwhile, is interested in untangling a different type of problem. Over a decade ago, the former supermodel started a non-profit technology education program, Kode With Klossy, a camp that connects young girls with opportunities and support in the technology and computer science space.
Her first childrenโs book, โSpaghetti Code: A Story About Problem-Solving, Pasta, and the Power of Big Ideas,โ out July 28, introduces coding concepts to 4 to 8-year-olds.
โโSpaghetti codeโ is a term that means when your code is a hot mess. Thereโs a bug in there somewhere and youโve got to fix it,โ Kloss said on TODAY. โThe idea is to not get frustrated or overwhelmed when you hit a mistake, but to work through it and keep going.โ
The mom of three called her leap into writing a childrenโs picture book about coding principles a โtall order,โ but wanted it to be โreally fun and visual.โ
โโSpaghetti Codeโ is really inspired by our scholars, who are these incredible, passionate young women from around the world,โ Kloss said.
โSpaghetti Codeโ is the first in a five-book series, per Publisherโs Weekly.
