Heβs already conquered the Windy City β now John Mulaney has his eyes set on the Big Apple.
Mulaney, who became the first comedian to headline Chicagoβs Wrigley Field during a July 11 show, has announced βMulaney Takes Manhattan,β a series of nine shows over nine days in New York City, culminating with a performance at Madison Square Garden, he revealed exclusively on TODAY on July 28.
βInstead of doing one show in New York City, or even three shows in New York City, for my tour, Iβm going to do a very special run. Nine different iconic New York City venues in nine nights,β he said.
βThis is very, very cool, I must say. Iβm doing something very cool, and Iβm a very cool person,β he joked. βThis is really a great way to do the intimate small places. I love playing here, building up to Madison Square Garden, doing Radio City (Music Hall). I filmed a special at Radio City, to go back there. Itβs going to be really cool.β
The shows, which will begin Jan. 7, 2027 and end Jan. 15, 2027, will feature special guests and a new experience each performance.

Mulaney is in the middle of his βMister Whatever Tour,β which stopped at Wrigley Field β home of the Chicago Cubs β for his history-making performance.
βIt was iconic. It mightβve been too big,β he said.
βIt was like playing a spaceship. And who brought me up, but Mr. David Letterman,β he added, as video of the legendary comedian introducing him played, a moment that left him in awe.
βWhatβs cool about something that crazy is you donβt even have to put it in perspective. It was just wild. And then the show itself was like flying a spaceship,β he said.
