Despite being among the WNBAβs most-watched players, Caitlin Clark tends to keep her personal life mostly private β including her long-term relationship with boyfriend Connor McCaffrey.
For birthdays, though, the couple often shares their love more publicly. To celebrate McCaffreyβs 28th on July 13, Clark gave her fans a rare glimpse into their relationship with an affectionate Instagram post.
βHappyyyyy Birthdayyyy Con,β she captioned the post, adding heart emoji. βI love celebrating you always and canβt wait to see what this year brings you , ilyyy.β
Among the black-and-white carousel, Clark shared three photos of the couple smiling and hugging side by side. In the fourth and final shot, she captured McCaffrey cheering her on from the stands while she plays for the Indiana Fever.
βPic 4 is us,β McCaffrey commented, acknowledging his typical role as her supporter.
βLove you thank u sm,β he commented separately, adding a black heart.
Just a few months earlier in April, Clark also gave her 3.8 million followers a glimpse at the coupleβs third anniversary celebrations.
βThree years with my fav,β she captioned a photo of the smiling and dolled up couple, adding, βyouβre the bestttt.β
The two met in 2023 while both playing as college athletes at the University of Iowa, where Clark famously set the NCAA Division I womenβs basketball scoring record.
During his college career, McCaffrey was a standout player in his own right, finishing with the second-best career assist-to-turnover ratio in NCAA history.
While Clark went on toq keep playing professionally after the couple graduated from Iowa in 2023 β earning the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year award for her first season with the Fever β McCaffrey pivoted to coaching.
He spent around two years on the Butler University staff as an assistant coach for its menβs basketball team and later moved to his current position: player development assistant for the Noblesville Boom, the NBA G League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers.
