But she is, ma. Liz McGraw will step away from โReal Housewives of Rhode Islandโ for Season 2, after quickly becoming a fan favorite for her teasing confessionals and zippy one-liners.
Liz on July 1 announced her departure from the reality TV show on Instagram, writing that she plans to โfocus on my family, my work and my passions.โ
โAs filming for Season 2 begins, I have made the decision to take a step back,โ she said in her statement.
She added that sheโs โfull of gratitudeโ for her time as a main cast member and will be watching the next season.
TODAY.com has reached out to Bravo for comment but did not immediately hear back. The networkโs official Instagram commented a heart emoji on Lizโs post.
โReal Housewives of Rhode Islandโ premiered in April and aired a two-part reunion on June 21 and June 28. The Bravo show was renewed for a second season in May.
Liz, 56, is described in the show as Rhode Islandโs โCannabis Queen.โ She owns and operates the stateโs largest cannabis dispensary. Liz is married to Gerry McGraw and stepmother to his three children. Sheโs longtime friends with โReal Housewives of New Jerseyโ star Dolores Catania, who made several appearances throughout โRhode Islandโsโ debut season.
Liz was represented as one of the leaders of the โReal Housewives of Rhode Islandโ group throughout Season 1, with longtime friendships with Kelsey Swanson, Alicia Carmody and Jo-Ellen Tiberi. Over Season 1โs 12 episodes, tension escalated between Liz and Jo-Ellen before exploding at a brunch outing. During the reunion, Liz questioned Jo-Ellenโs description of their relationship as โbest friends.โ
The cast for Season 2 of โRHORIโ is unclear. Season 1 featured Liz, Kelsey, Alicia, Jo-Ellen as well as Rosie DiMare, Rulla Nehme Pontarelli and โBachelorโ franchise alum Ashley Iaconetti.
