Actor Keegan Allen, best known for his role in teen drama series โPretty Little Liars,โ alleges in an Oct. 9 video that he was violently mugged in West Hollywood by two masked men.

Responding to comments under his video, the 37-year-old told fans that he went to the hospital following the incident and was โdef concussed.โ
The Los Angeles County Sheriffโs Department shared a statement in response to an NBC News request for comment on the incident. The department said that the LAPDโs Major Crimes Bureau is investigating the reported Oct. 8 armed robbery.
In the Instagram video, Allen shared footage of the alleged attack, which shows two men pointing a gun at a victim. One of the men bashes the victim over the head.
โRobbed at gunpoint and knifepoint by two young men that threatened to KILL me over my watch and would have! God said no tonight. My life for a watch,โ he wrote in the caption of his post.
Allen wrote in response to a comment that one of the attackers also demanded a bracelet the actor was wearing, which led to the beating.
โI was trying to tell him itโs not easy to take off and said โyou can take it offโ and he pistol whipped me,โ Allen wrote.

โDuring the incident, one of the suspects struck the victim in the face with the handgun, causing a laceration to his forehead,โ the statement said. โThe suspects took the victimโs watch and fled the location in an unknown vehicle.โ
Personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and medically evaluated the victim, who was not transported to the hospital, the statement said.
In his post, Allen called out Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass and California governor Gavin Newsom.
โLetโs hope all these flock cameras that @karenbassla @gavinnewsom and everyone thinks will stop crime can find these very dangerous criminals,โ Allen wrote on Instagram.
In a statement sent to NBC News, Bass called the incident โegregious.โ She also pointed out that West Hollywood is an independent city and that the LA County Sheriffโs Department is leading the investigation. It is technically not part of the city of Los Angeles.
โNo one should have to experience something like this,โ Bass said.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriffโs Department, serious crimes in the area have decreased nearly 10% from January through August. Additionally, robberies have been on the decline. Statistics show that through August, there were 49 reported robberies. Thatโs a 21% decrease from the 62 incidents during the same period in 2025.
In response to recent October incidents, a department spokesperson said that the agency is increasing the number of deputies conducting patrols throughout the city.
โWhile these declines are encouraging, they do not diminish the seriousness of recent robberies or the fear felt by our community,โ a spokesperson for the department said.
