It’s that time of year again for music’s biggest stars to take the stage for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.

The annual award show returns this Sunday, Sept. 27, and will highlight some of the biggest artists, songs and performances voted on by fans over the last year. Snoop Dogg is hosting this year’s festivities in Los Angeles for the first time, other notable award presenters such as Teyana Taylor and Charli xcx.

Madonna leads this year’s nominations with 11 nods, followed by Taylor Swift with nine and Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande with seven each. The VMAs will also welcome 26 first-time nominees to the show this year, including Olivia Dean, Noah Kahan and Yung Lean.

In addition to awards, the night will also feature a star-studded lineup of performances. Among those taking the stage are Madonna, kicking off the night, and Sienna Spiro, Lisa and Shaboozey, to name a few.

This year’s ceremony will honor two music legends with special tribute performances. Kacey Musgraves will pay tribute to late country singer Dolly Parton, while RAYE, Sombr and Teddy Swims will honor artist George Michael.

How to Vote for the 2026 VMAs

Viewers over the age of 13 can cast votes for their favorites by visiting MTV’s official voting site. Each person is allowed up to 10 votes each day per category.

Voting for most categories closed Friday, Sept. 25, with the exception of best new artist, which ends on the day of the VMAs, Sunday, Sept. 27.
