Sugarland Announces ‘Ride Or Die Tour,’ Celebrating 20th Anniversary of ‘Enjoy the Ride’: EXCLUSIVE

Sugarland is hitting the road for a very special reason.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their hit album “Enjoy the Ride,” the country duo is heading out on tour this fall.

On Aug. 11, Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush sat down with Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones to discuss their exciting announcement and give a preview of what fans can expect from the aptly named the “Ride Or Die Tour.”

Nettles and Bush will be touring cities across the country from Oct. 1 to Nov. 21 to celebrate the album that solidified their spot as country icons. The official Instagram account for the duo released the official lineup of dates Aug. 11. Ticket presale begins Aug. 12 at 10 a.m. followed by general onsale Aug. 14.

Following its 2006 release, “Enjoy the Ride” went triple platinum. Throughout their time as a band, Sugarland has sold nearly 10 million albums in the U.S. The duo has won two Grammy Awards, five ACM Awards and five consecutive CMA Awards for vocal duo of the year, from 2007 to 2011.

Nettles specifically points to “Enjoy the Ride” as a “turning point” in their career.

“Our debut album was great, but then this (was) really like when people started to really catch on to what we were doing and like it,” she said.

Bush said the album holds a special place in Sugarland’s heart since it was the first one they produced together. Outside of the band, Bush himself has produced an endless amount of music for other artists.

“Dreaming up how things sound and how they feel, it’s something I’ve been doing my whole life,” he said.

Looking back on their band’s enduring success, Nettles said she has “so much gratitude,” and Bush echoed her sentiments.

After collaborating for several decades, Bush and Nettles have a simple secret for forming a successful working relationship that lasts.

“I think like any relationship, you keep it fresh and you communicate. It doesn’t matter if it’s family. It doesn’t matter if it’s intimate. It doesn’t matter if it’s creative. Whatever, like keep it fresh. We do obviously other things. Kristian’s a fantastic producer (and) has hit records out the wazoo with Megan Moroney right now,” Nettles said.

Bush added that he and Nettles are a “unique duo” for one particular reason.

“Almost every single time we’ve sat down to do anything, maybe even in the dressing room before we walked up here, we will come up with ideas on the spot that work almost every time. And I don’t know what that (is), you know, I grab onto her,” he said.

Before announcing their new tour, Sugarland teased some exciting news on their Instagram account, posting a video of the country duo taking a bow on stage. The band captioned the post, “It’s been a minute…” and added the words “Coming soon” to the end of the video.
